Hello everyone, I’m Francesca Smith, the founder of Franning.

After graduating from the Royal College of Art, I spent several years feeling lost—often joking that I had “plenty of inspiration but nothing to show for it.” It wasn’t until I devoted 2,653 days and nights traveling across Asia and Europe that I realized I could draw from the subtle beauty and natural harmony of the East while developing a distinctly Western design style. My goal was to create lighting that delivers both high quality and exceptional value. From this vision, Franning was born.

To better serve our customers, we’ve established warehouses in California, Wyoming, and New York. Most products ship directly from the U.S., while select custom pieces are produced and shipped from our factories in Asia.
