What Size Should You Choose?
A simple rule is to choose a chandelier that is roughly one-half to two-thirds the width of your dining table.
- 20" — best for smaller dining areas, breakfast nooks, or bedrooms
- 23" — ideal for small-to-medium dining rooms
- 31" — a good statement size for standard dining rooms
- 39" — better for large dining tables and spacious rooms
One common mistake is choosing a chandelier that is too small. Once furniture is added, a fixture often looks smaller than expected.
Will It Work With an 8- or 9-Foot Ceiling?
Yes.
For dining rooms, a common starting point is to hang the bottom of the chandelier about 30–36 inches above the tabletop.
For an 8-foot ceiling, the 20" or 23" sizes usually feel easier to balance.
With a 9- or 10-foot ceiling, the 31" and even 39" versions can work well depending on the table and room size.
The standard suspension cord is approximately 59 inches, and custom hanging lengths are also available.
Is Alabaster Too Formal for Everyday Homes?
Not necessarily.
Compared with crystal chandeliers, alabaster has a softer and more natural appearance.
It pairs especially well with:
oak, walnut, cream upholstery, brass finishes, natural stone, and warm neutral interiors.

Will It Be Bright Enough?
The different sizes use different numbers of E12 bulbs:
- 20" — 6 lights
- 23" — 8 lights
- 31" — 12 lights
- 39" — 15 lights
The fixture uses 3000K warm light, helping create a comfortable atmosphere for dining and entertaining.
For larger rooms, we still recommend combining the chandelier with recessed lighting or wall lights rather than relying on one fixture for the entire room.
